Welcome to Wayward Dog Ranch

​Wayward Dog Ranch is a family owned 80 acre ranch in Grass Valley, CA.

We often refer to the ranch as "Dog Disneyland" for the dogs who come train here. But besides being an fun place for your dog to come stay- we also use our land to raise cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens that we utilize for many purposes including, sustainable & regenerative land management through rotational grazing practices, natural fire prevention, and providing humanely raised organic meat for our family.

 

The moving parts involved in running a ranch of this size, with so many animals, provides many unique training & socialization opportunities for the dogs in our Board & Train program. The ranch provides a perfect mix of stimulation, and tranquility for your dog.

During your dogs stay we focus on building your dogs self confidence, and building behaviors over time that serve as strong foundational skills to reach our clients ultimate training goals. We love when our clients have specific goals like off leash hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, bringing their dogs paddle boarding with them, or to a brewery, etc. When we do outings away from the ranch, we focus those outings based on your training goals by choosing locations like one of our many hiking spots, local downtown areas, etc to test your dogs skills in varying environments. We want our clients to leave their B&T ready to enjoy their lifestyle with their dogs in tow.
